Ebenezer Choir members get together every Saturday after the Worship Service for Song Rehearsals. They are practicing today also as you see in the photo. You see there is neither drums nor electric guitars, simply guitar and hormonium. Choir members are simple, wearing dicent dresses. No long hairs no tops on the ears. They love the Lord and his Word. They seek to please God. This is what God wants. All of them are serving the Lord being very faithful in every Worship Service. God is blessing Ebenezer Church in music ministry.

Today music ministries of the churches in Nepal are being more like worldly. Having long hair and worldly apparels they stand before the church leading the congregations. Many of the churches seems as concerts in their music ministy parts using drum sets and electric guitars. People with heart diseases are facing hard times with the Christian musics in the churches. Dancing is becoming normal in the church services in Nepal. New generation is leading the music ministries in the churches without having proper leaderships and guidances. There is a lack of clear doctrines for music. May God bless this nation with godly music sounding the trumpet of the gospel and the truth.

संगीतको उद्गम

परमेश्वरले संगीतको सृष्टि गर्नुभएको हो। संगीत उहाँको प्रिय वस्तु हो। उहाँको बासस्थान संगीतमय छ। प्रकाश ५:८; १४:२; १५:२। लुसिफर संगीतका निम्ति दखल हुने गरी सृजिएको थियो। इजकिएल २८:१३। मानिस संगीत कौशलतामा सृष्टि गरिएको छ। उनीहरुलाई गाउन भनिएको छ। कलस्सी ३:१६; याकुव ५:१३।

व्यवस्था युगमा इतिहास

राजा दाउदले परमप्रभुका निम्ति हर्षका साथ स्वर उचाल्न लेवीहरुलाई आफ्ना मध्येबाट एक समूह नियुक्त गर्न हुकुम दिएका थिए। १ इतिहास १५:१६। उनले आसाप, यदूतून र हेमान र तिनीहरुका छोराहरु गरी २८८ जनालाई वीणा लगायतका बाजाहरुका साथ अगमवाणी गर्न नियुक्त गरे। तिनीहरु सबै आफ्ना पिताहरुको अधिनमा सेवा गर्थे। आसाप, यदूतून र हेमान चाहिँ राजाको अधीनमा थिए। जवान, बूढा, गाउनमा निपुण र सिकारु दुबैले तिनीहरुका कामको निम्ति चिट्ठा हाल्थे। १ शमूएल २५:१-८। दाउद जो परमप्रभुका अति प्रिय सेवक थिए संगीत सेवालाई अत्यन्तै व्यवस्थित गरे। संगीतका निम्ति ठूलो संख्यामा व्यक्तिहरुको नियुक्त गरे जसलाई सेवाका निम्ति जिम्मेवारलाई व्यवस्थित गरे। उनले परमप्रभुका निम्ति थुप्रै भजनहरुको रचना गरी प्रधान वादक र संगीत समूहलाई सुम्पे जो इस्रायलका भजन संग्रहमा संग्रहित गरिए।
राजा शुलेमानले पनि संगीतलाई व्यवस्थित गरे। बाजा बजाउनेहरु र गाउनेहरुमा मतैक्यता थियो। तिनले बाजा र गायनको स्वरलाई अति सुमधुर तुल्याए। परमप्रभुलाई भजनहरुमा प्रशंसा र धन्यवाद चढाए। गायकहरुले बाजासंगै स्वर उचाले। तब परमप्रभुको घर उहाँको महिमाले ढाकिए। २ इतिहास ५:१३। इस्रायलले संगीतलाई आदर गर्थे। जब संगीत समूहले गाए तब सारा ईस्रायल उभे। २ इतिहास ७:६।
इस्रायलका अन्य राजाहरुका पालामा पनि संगीतकारहरुले परमप्रभुलाई प्रशंसा गर्न सिकाइए अनुसार गाए। २ इतिहास २३:१३। बाद्यबादकहरुले बाजाहरु बजाउन दक्षता हाँसिल गरेका थिए। २ इतिहास ३४:१२। यहोशापातले परमप्रभुमा प्रशंसा गाउन गायकहरु नियुक्त गरे जसको कारण युद्धहरु जितिए। २ इतिहास २०:२१।

मण्डली युगमा संगीत

पवित्र आत्माले भरिएर आपसमा भजन, स्तुतिगान र आत्मिक गीतहरुद्वारा बात गर्न र प्रभुका निम्ति आ-आफ्नो हृदयमा गाउन मण्डलीलाई आज्ञा गरिएको छ। एफिसी ५:१९। परमेश्वरका शान्तिमा रही ख्रीष्टको वचनले भरिएर भजन, स्तुतिगान र आत्मिक गीतद्वारा सारा बुद्धिसित एकार्कालाई सिकाउन सम्झाउन तथा अनुग्रहसाथ आफ्ना हृदयहरुमा प्रभुका निम्ति गाउन मण्डलीलाई भनिएको छ। कलस्सी ३:१५-१७। ख्रीष्टमा हुने सबै जो आनन्दित छन् उनीहरुलाई भजन गाऊन् आह्वान गरिएको छ। याकुव ५:१३।

सुधार आन्दोलन युगमा संगीत

चार्ल्स वेस्लीले सुधार आन्दोलन युगमा हजारौं भजनहरु लेखी युरोपलाई जुर्मुराएका थिए। उनले लेखेका भजनहरु आज पनि ठूलो संख्यामा गाइन्छन्। त्यसरी नै फेनी जे क्रस्वीले आधुनिक युगमा अत्यन्तै सुन्दर भजनहरुका रचना गर्ने र संगीत दिने कार्य गरे। इतिहासमा संगीतले महत्वपूर्ण काम गरे जसले जीवनहरुलाई ख्रीष्टमा डोर्यािए, धार्मिकताका निम्ति जुर्मुराए। संगीत मानव जीवनको महत्वपूर्ण साधन र आवश्यकता हो।

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord". Colossians 3:16

The stand and vision of Ebenezer for music ministry accord with this verse. It has two purposes for the music, one is to praise God and the next is to teach others. The words, music and the way of singing are carefully observed for the music ministry. The words of the songs should be harmonized with the Word of God. And the music should be fit with the words.

Ebenezer Church has a choir group consist of 16 members. Ebenezer formed the choir group through the exams and tests. Advitizement was opned for the choir members. And they were gone through written exam focussing on fundamental doctrines, their infividual belifs and stands. After the written exam they went through interview. And then only they were selected for the choir group. All of them are saved and stand in sound doctrines.

Choir members are to meet regularly once a week for song practices and are to minister in music for Worship and Prayer meetings. Music Leader leads the group for the ministry. Choir members have the responstibilies for both singing and playing the musical instruments in the Church services.

Rock n' Roll, Pop Songs, modern worldly musics are rejected in Ebenezer. Choir members should be examples for this. Drum sets, electric guitars are not allowed to play in the church services and in their individual lives. Dancings are not allowed. Choir member should walk with the Lord continually. They are to lead the congregation through music. They have important roles in the church life. May God bless their ministry in ebenezer and other areas of their lives.
